Medical AssistantA medical assistant functions under the direction, guidance, and supervision of a licensed physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or RN. A medical assistant assists in coordinating all aspects of the care received in the Urgent Care setting.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program. In lieu of a Medical Assistant course, recent completion of one year formal RN program.Experience: Urgent care experience preferred.Knowledge and Skills: Vitals, triage categories, medication administration, splinting, competency in lab and radiology orders, knowledge of medication rotation and record keeping.License/Certifications: Current BLS card from American Heart Association (AHA).Equipment: EKG machine, blood pressure machine, otoscope, oxygen tank, stethoscope, nebulizer, glucose meter, thermometer, pulse-oximeter, Omnicell medication dispensing cabinet, computer, copy machine, fax machine, and scanner.Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.PAY RANGE$23.00 - $32.61The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay that was available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change.
